New disks and pads fitted and has improved the braking no end! Even taking it easy for bedding in, noticable difference straight away .

Headlights were looking a bit cloudy so took to those to bring them back to how they should be, think it's a good result. Pictures don't actually do the difference full justice .

haha nice! The megs stuff comes with some sort of uv protection spray you put on to stop them fading in the future, i'd suggest doing the same as you're effectively removing it when buffing the lights

Took the plunge and went for 4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric all round about a month ago. Very pleased with them so far, transforms the way it drives overall.

Also finally got a couple of hours to get a bit of a polish on, just some Autoglym Super Resin that I had lying around but think it came up pretty well. Clay bar would improve it further but don't have the time at the minute, lucky to fit a wash in!

Got around to swapping out the headunit for something that would allow Bluetooth streaming. Went for something non-touchscreen as the dash isn't exactly modern looking so think it fits in better.
The Spotify integration to the phone is great and DAB works well.
Added the steering wheel integration harness too, wasn't too difficult.

Next up I need a creative idea to fix the scratches on the cubby above the headunit. Nissan looking £185 for a replacement which I can't justify.

This makes my miss my first 350, they really are excellent looking in black, but I don't think I'd have the patience anymore to keep it looking tip top, grey is much easier lol

You may be able to repair the scratches on the cubby with a heat gun, i've heard of people doing it, but haven't tried myself.

Got any photos of the cubby hole @Smick ?

What I am doing for my interior is sanding it down then spraying it with Halfords matte black paint, seems to be a pretty good match to the OEM finish so might be something that could work for you.

Looks awesome :grinning:

From experience never break a front window and never break a light bi-xenon front light. Both will bankrupt you.

Yeah some of the guys on 350z forums have just sanded it down a bit and repainted. Think it would be tough getting a perfect match. There is a dimple effect and it's a grey/black colour.
It's the only untidy thing in the interior, plus it's noticeable where it is. So it'll be sorted at some point, things like that bug me more than they should!

From memory it was £800 for the window and £1,100 ex vat from Nissan for the light.
Had heard the same on the lights being so expensive. Wouldn't have thought windows would be big money

Remembered your thread. Guy on owners club recently used the above stuff and it’s an exact match to the oem black grey interior colour.

I’m ordering some for my zed.

Here is fellas thread.

Still haven't sorted the cubby hole but have a few maintenance things sorted recently....

Noticed a bit of water in the spare wheel well :worried:
Tracking down the source took a while with the boot stripped and garden hose out but finally got to this thing....

It seems there are 2 vents behind the rear bumper (one either side) which are apparently a standard feature on 99% of cars. These allow pressure release when you close doors / boot and also allow for air flow when you have the blower on (every day's a school day!)
So on inspection there is a pretty poor quality foam seal which was perished and broken at one point.
So replaced (actually is a Renault part) and leak sorted thankfully!

Next up was a common 350z weakness - the W brace, rear stays (connect the W brace underneath to chassis / subframe) and associated nuts and bolts.
Both looking a bit tired after 12 years so took the hit and ordered up new OEM. Not cheap for what they are but preferred to stick to standard and get it done right.
Also got the mechanic to Waxoyl the rear area to keep it in order.

Minor service was also due so some fresh fluid and filters, got that done at the same time.

Then it was MOT time, so that's her done for another year :grinning:
