Being a complete idiot, I was treated mold with some HG Mold Remover and the overspray got on my bandsaw's aluminum table and has left it very rough and tarnished looking.

What is the best way to fix this?

Can you share a picture.

Aluminium can be polished. Couple of options. Sanding block or wet and dry is one option.

Next option is using metal polish and 0000 wire wool and buff with the grain

Piece of scotchbrite should bring it back up easy enough. But it will dull again anyway unless it has a coating of some sort

I try to avoid steel wool, as small pieces can get stuck and eventually rust. Probably more prominent in stainless steel compared to aluminium, but have noticed it More so on cast aluminium which your band saw probably is. If you must use it, make sure it’s wet with polish, or soap or something. Scothbrite type pads would be my go to

Thanks guys, I’m going to have a stab at this later, I’ll try a scotchbrite pad with some autosol first and work up from there.
