It's the only colour scheme for it! Looks amazing. Love that! (y)

Define greatest of all time, as it wasn't even the most successful in period!

Possibly, 4 consecutive championships is impressive, albeit a fairly forgettable car imo.

Lancia Delta beats it with 6 consecutive (ok slight differences in the cars but all deltas and all group a from 1987 to 1992)

So that rules out pretty much any of the 100k plus mk2s builds competing now 😂

I'd much, much rather have an Abarth 131

The Quattro was an aural masterpiece, pure sound and fury. The bangs from the blow off valve went right through you, much like the escort cossy wrc's of the late 90's and early 00's. The Quattro's broke a lot though, I think in 1985 we only saw Michele Mouton over 3 or 4 stages on the COI before she retired, Malcolm Wilson didn't make it through the first stage in his older A1. They both retired again in the Ulster that year too. TBH, I think they are all brilliant, loved the Group B stuff in period, the Group A stuff got good too and then the WRC and R5 / Rally 2's, even the Rally 3 Fiesta's are great too.
If I had the money for something historic, I think it would be an Abarth 131, but the reality is that with the spares availability of Escorts, they are probably cheaper to run on events. I'd have whatever I could run, at the moment, the MX5 is all I can justify and even that isn't cheap, at all.
