BMW e60/61 key program

Hi folks.

The key fob battery for my e61 died a while ago.

I bought a new key from the dealers which needs coded to the car. It starts it but the remote central won’t work on it.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks for this. I tried it already and no joy. have the 2 original keys at the minute. One won't operate the remote central locking but will start the car. The other one works for the remote central locking and starts the car, but an error code pops up on the dash after a few miles to say it doesn't recognise it.

I replaced the rechargeable battery in the first fob.
