Well some of you may have seen my old thread and build here on my BMW R45
It was never my intention for it to look like that for too long and it was soon changed.
I enjoyed it like this for a year or 2 until April 2019 when I spun a bearing leaving Newcastle trying to catch up to my brother on his RSV 1000 (never did catch up)
This would be the last photo of it together and running from 2019....
I parked it up in the shed and well forgot about it for almost 2 years as I have a few other bikes.
But now for the fun part, I have started to rebuild it. Every nut and bolt being changed.
(This might be pic heavy)
Enjoy
At this point the engine has been stripped to the casing and everything removed.
There is new everything now fitted.
what I have also done is fit a R65 piston and cylinder. The 45 was fun but it lacked any get up and go. I have always enjoyed old small cc bikes thou so I didn’t want to go to an 80 or 100 engine. My go to bike that I ride is a BMW RnineT so I don’t need to get any speed thrills from the old ones.
Have some more pictures...
Bit of a lack of order to some of the images but the block is now assembled and just received the last bolts for the flywheels and clutch along with new oil filter to fit this weekend.
Next step is to make a complete wiring loom from scratch which will be deleting a lot of the standard electrical components.
The goal for the bike is to make a 1 off race fairing and only to run a rear light and brake light. The bike is mot exempt which is a bonus but I’d like to dedicate it to some of the vintage races in England and perhaps any parade laps I can here.
Id also like to mention that the rebuild wouldn’t have happened so smoothly with the help of my good friend Chris Martin, if you ever bump into him buy him a pint for me.
