Hi folks. Any suggestions of who could refurb/repaint the brake Calipers on my Leon cupra R. They are 9 years old and showing the signs of it. I would attempt it myself but want it to turn out well 😂 so looking to a professional hand for this.
the pic is of the rear Caliper as an example of their condition.
Thanks

Yes, just wire brush off and paint. Looks like that's falling off already :innocent:

Most of the work is in the prep, removing all that old crap and getting a nice even surface.

Make sure to use an enamel paint, they will take the heat from the brakes.

If you get down to bare metal then an etch primer is probably a good idea.

Seeking recommendations myself if anyone has any. South Belfast preferably but can travel. Don’t have the time to do this myself.

NuLuk do calliper refurbs now I think - seen some examples last time I was in
The were demonstrating Cerakote paint at the JPCC event by getting folk to whack a painted caliper with a spanner. Seems to be a very tough paint/coating. Theres a place called Factory Finish in Armagh that also appears to sell it.

Any other viable options in this country.

Have 4 brembos looking repainted nicely.

Big red is around 7-800 lol (albeit with new seals, sliders, clips etc)

Polished Alloys will do them but you have to have them stripped - they won't take them off

Can make arrangements and collection if needs be @Ben P

Rub down, etch, paint and laquer?

Normal car paints? Or fancy 2k or heat proof enamel stuff?

They are off the car, but pistons and seals still on, that sufficient?

Yep exactly as above, just took my time and a heat gun helped, Halfords paints. They lasted well for a year or 2 when I had the car and no signs of degradation. I just taped up the seals and everything else. It wasn’t a 100% perfect job but for the money i was more than pleased with the results.

Yes clean, rub down and paint, it’s is a 2k paint that has to be mixed but they give you correct amount so can’t go wrong

You can hand paint but if you have a spray gun and compressor it will be a better job.

The place I got my paint, ps it’s a single stage paint, no clear coat required

Robin @ Studio ten suggested this which he has used.
Though I worry how good a brushed finish will be 🤷‍♂️
