C63s coupe
So I got rid of the GTR and got this c63s coupe. Has every option apart from ceramic brakes and the 'magno selenite' paint which is probably my favourite thing about the car as it really shows off all the lines. originally I was going to get the facelift but decided I would miss the pops and bangs too much so went for the pre facelift and surprised how loud it is from outside the car but its a bit quiet in the cabin so have ordered an exhaust valve controller which should help sort that out :grinning:

I definitely feel like I sit very high in it even with the seat in the lowest position compared to an m4 or any of my previous cars and the steering feels a little odd in comparison to the GTR but other than that I'm loving it. It's MUCH more comfortable and already proving to be a perfect daily, I had really missed having a HUD and a 360 camera and love being able to take it on any roads and leave it anywhere.

As well as the exhaust valve controller I'm going to buy the aero pack spoiler and the front splitter from the facelift and change the pilot super sports from 255/285 to PS4S in 275/305 or 265/295 and get it lowered.

Looks fantastic and great spec. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on comparing it to the M4 you had.

Its been such a long time since I had my M4 that I probably couldn't compare very accurately but the two things I would say with certainty is you can definitely sit MUCH lower in the M4 :joy: and the C63 sounds much better, at least on the outside. The m4 seemed a lot louder in the cabin though. I had a new M4 on 24 hour test a couple of months ago and it seemed to move around at the rear a lot more than the c63, could feel the M4 squirm when putting the foot down hard in a straight line but I think it has much better traction from standing than the c63 and better turn in, not sure how much of that is tyres as the m4 had 275 front PS4S compared to the 255 PSS on the c63.

I discovered why the steering felt odd - the steering/lane keeping assist were both on, switched them off and feels way better now thankfully :grinning:

Nice car but think I would be investing in another plate as the M4 bit looks wrong.
Probably is a bit stupid but for some reason I really like the reg and think I'll keep it on every car, had considered buying one that started with V8 but decided I liked the look of the current one more lol

I love the inside!! HTD

Not sure about this though, I'd be paranoid parking this anywhere.

:joy: compared to the GTR its great though, it barely fit in a space whereas this will easily fit in and doesn't draw any attention.

So the renntech evm arrived, was super easy to fit and has definitely made it a lot louder in the lower rev range.

Splitter and spoiler arrived this morning. Popped the spoiler over the existing one to get an idea of what it’ll look like and think it’ll be perfect when on 😍

Replaced the stock 285 PSS that still had 3mm tread all over with 295 PS4S at the weekend and has made a massive difference. Rear always felt a bit under tyred to me coming from the 911 with 305 rears and the GTR with 325 rears and the stock 285 were very stretched so were more like a 275. Cold and wet grip noticeably better and doesn’t spin the rears now when pulling out of junctions and the 295 look much better than the stretched stock. They’re a lot quieter, more comfortable too and the steering feels heavier and generally are so much better than the PSS. Would definitely recommend anyone else with a c63 changing to them 👍🏻

@riano That looks incredible. How do you find it compares to the M4 you had from ownership so far? They are both on my list but the C63 is edging it on looks :grinning:

@J55NI its been a couple of years since I drove the M4 but I'd say the following would be my comparison.

Engine
C63 sounds better but in the cabin there is less noise as there is no fake sound pumped in, although get a valve controller and it greatly improves it. C63 feels a lot more linear and id say feels slower because of it (even though I don't think it is) and the C63 is a lot thirstier :joy: I'd say the M4 felt more urgent and arguably more exciting.

Gearbox
M4 feels much sharper with much faster up and down shifts but that comes at the expense of feeling jerky around town/when manoeuvring etc but when on the go it has the much better gearbox but the jerkiness was the one thing that annoyed me about it as most of my driving is around town. The C63 is fast enough and its not terrible but its not razor sharp like the DCT but it is much better and smoother around town. I find the different engine/gearbox modes on the C63 much better than the M4, comfort, sport, sport plus and race are all useable whereas in the M4 I found sport plus to just kangaroo around town and could only use it on the go.

Tech/comfort/interior
Pretty equal here, 360 cameras and HUD etc but I miss the 2 configurable modes the M4 had as the C63 has just the 1 and also miss how you could alter the HUD view with the configurable modes on the M4 (can't even do that in the new M4). I think as standard the C63 interior looks better but the M4 with full leather is nicer than the C63 interior imo. The M performance steering wheel on my M4 is my favourite ever wheel, think it was perfect.

Seating Position
M4 by a absolute mile! Can sit really low in it whereas the C63 feels like a 4x4 by comparison - if I could change one thing about the C63 it would be to have the seat go as low as in the M4.

Suspension/Traction
Think the C63 has better traction and is less tail happy overall which is probably from the more linear power delivery and I think the c63 has a slightly less firm ride - apparently the facelift is better still.

Overall I'd say they're both great but quite different, the M4 feels like more of a raw race car and I always felt the need/wanted to push it really hard but it wasn't great around town whereas the C63 is a better grand tourer, more comfortable for everyday use but can also be a beast when you want it to be.

Latest mod - got the front grill painted gloss black to match the rest of the night pack and the aero parts I had fitted. Think it looks a lot more aggressive now and not sure why Merc didn’t black this out from factory as part of the night pack.

Final mod - edition 1 side skirts fitted to finish it off, makes it look a lot more aggressive but hard to capture in pictures because of all the reflections but these stuck out a couple of inches horizontally. Also fitted a full size rear plate as didn’t like the short one. Finally think it’s perfect

Health to enjoy and drive fella.
