Thought I would make a thread about stalking cars
Not in a creepy way but just out of pure interest
We all do it

Maybe you had an old car and you wanna find out if its still alive or whatever?.. well look no further
Cant seem to find anywhere else on the forum to post so I thought id make my own place (...if its allowed...)

I'll start with this...

e38 740iL pre facelift on 20" softline Alpinas

Ive seen it on an old Ni-BMW purchase thread posted in 2013 but there wasn't much on it ( 2 pics )
I found that plate on a lovely Alpina f30 at dub shed last year so I'm afraid that beautiful 740iL could be dead
Has anyone seen it?

I know the owner of the plate and I can guarantee if he owned it then it was certainly well looked after and loved during his ownership

Not sure what car its on now as haven't been to many shows or any NI-BMW meets to have a chat

Owned this twice and I know the history of it but Jes I still love it!!

Where is it these days, on the road, car heaven due to rust And parts donated to other cars or is it now a track car?

My Granny bought a Helios Blue Nova 1.3 GL brand new in 1985, didnt like it, so my dad bought it off her for my mum. Car was in the family up until 99 or so, so did all the school runs etc.
I took a notion that I would like to get myself a similar Nova again for nostalgic reasons, and went on the search. There were very few GL's made full stop, as they were only produced between 85 and 87, and Helios Blue was a rare colour as well.

Little did I know that the first one I got wind off was our old car, couldn't believe it when I pulled into the yard and saw the plate. It is in bad shape, but I couldn't leave it, so bought it there and then.

Its a 5 door. Shell is fairly sound, needs a few bits and pieces but nothing major. Any trim that was GL specific is long gone though which I thought was going to be a major problem to find as there are very few 5 doors about. Found a 23k mile GL on ebay a while back for humble money so it was quickly bought too, shame to strip it, but for the greater good I think!

Pretty sure i had this for a brief spell too, bought it off Bradley. Some questionable history behind its former life in the mainland but was a rapid machine, near sure it's same car though had standard wheels when I bought it.

@Brennan i never owned it, just seen it on old Ni Bmw forum threads. Maybe @trev 1515 owned it? im not sure.. no one has owned up haha
