i doubt it mate..... not sure how many will be out... hopefully the fast radicals and crossle will be out along with the other regular roadsports crew..

NI sevens are not at this one i think, but southern strikers are........ for sure i don't see my thing being able to be on the radicals etc, but my main interest is what pace it has (and maybe more what pace I have !! being a tad rusty!) i havent been to a race meeting in a few years either ! but looking at times.. the radicals and Pauls Crossle are all 59s but if they are all out.... i doubt they will be much faster than 60s when racing (if close) anyway...... will see on Saturday !! shoudl be fun anyway

A bit numb from yesterday still.

Car performed well...better than expected to be fair. But all seems irrelevant as fellow competitor Paul Conn lost his life in our 2nd race :-(

Absolutely gutted.... we had a tight race in the first race (Paul won) and in the second race we also were having a superb race... and had been around the hairpin side by side!!

I’m in shock and saddened at the loss of an absolute gentleman :-(

Only pic I have if the two of us from yesterday.....

RIP Paul, Godspeed

Absolutely shocking news, I was thinking you would have been close to the scene of the accident, not easy to come to terms with. Thoughts very much with Paul’s family and friends.

Great photo above, car looks well and you’re right on the pace.

I’m just sorry I don’t have a pic of him in front, honestly it’s painful.

My first race in ~3 years... Paul was over chatting before qualy looking forward to the day - and giving me advise about my back (he was a GP) and after race 1, he was straight over shaking hands... and was just on cloud 9. He was absolute flying.

@IL also knows..... we all share the same race engineer (Mike Johnston) & are like a family.... Mike is gutted...... from having his two guys 1-2 and enjoying a fab battle on track.

Motorsport can be soooooo cruel.

I really can’t be arsed facing work tomorrow :-(

Guys, I doubt there are many people contemplating buying much in the current climate, but post coveid.... I am thinking of selling this VERY special car.

I bought this as a keeper, as it's pretty much my ultimate spec seven... But contemplating going a different direction.

If anyone is thinking of a a stupid (R500 beating) power to weight ratio road legal seven, with seq gearbox feel free to ping me.

Last yr, I won (outright) in road sports in first wk end out... At a sprint, won class by quite a margin... And was 5th overall ( on road tyres)

I've no ad made, not advertised anywhere.... I need to get the starter rebuilt... And am I process of re skinning and packing silencer... Both minor obviously

I never did advertise this last year, but will be advertising this year...

If anyone is in the market for an INSANE 250hp 9k rpm sequential gearbox rocket.... let me know... price will be a few beers less than £20k

Ha ha!!!! Ffs you’d only need to lift one of those pillows mate!!

I should have mentioned... with an old grey haired driver, zero testing and just baseline set up... this thing done consistent 59s at Kirkistown, and beat two VERY tuned radicals....

And the night before that race I was giving passenger rides to my sis, bro in law... and nephew around the roads!!! Spinning wheels in 3rd and 4th gear is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!

I didn’t expect to be selling this...

Not done much with this baby… last time out issues with missfire, seemed to be a sight vibration/issue with a rather modified and superlight flywheel knocking the crank sensor…. Couple of crank sensors… much cursing, few Road and dyno tests… and in the end… engine out… new flywheel in.

Old flywheel

New flywheel.

Got a new set of wheels this week too… want to keep the MB wheels ‘good’ and ultimately they should be crack tested for hard use… will kee them for wets.

New grey CXR

First start up of the year today…. Hopefully get engine check on dyno this week… possibly be racing this wk end coming… will just use as a test/shakedown really.

likely very limited market here…. But have just stuck this up for sale, while I contemplate other options for next season.

Have it priced at £11k as a roller… it’s MOt’d albeit really isn’t a road car… it’s well spec’d, has AP brakes, Nitron shocks, full cage, carbon nose, cycle wings, arches, seats!

Engine is a VERY strong K series…£5k

Choice of H pattern or sequential gearbox (both 6 speed.

Have lots of other stuff too .

Rolling chassis gone to new home…. But delighted to say, staying in NI 👌

Engine also sold…. Had interest from France, England….. but when a mate of the guy who works on my car saw it yesterday (guy in England asked for pics to prove spec….) he had to have it…. Guy in England was gutted. He casually said last night he will he back to me this morning.

For those of mechanical interests…. Check this out….. there were only two K series engines built like this…. Ever………

I will miss that wee engine, the way it picked up revs was absolutely mind blowing.

I really hope to hear this engine in a very small car in the near future, properly built k-series engines were very rare, especially by the factory. Usual issue with BL/Rover, fantastic ideas executed poorly.
