On the RMS Blog: Over 400 of the finest examples of classic, performance and modern Fords descended on Portrush's West Bay for another Causeway Coast Ford Fair. With this on offer and temperatures in the mid 20s and clear blue skies it was no wonder that thousands of visitors turned up on the day. (Read the Full Article Here)

Apologies for the dirty lens. Couldn't believe it ffs. Great event though, I'd missed a few years and it really has grown massive and the standard of cars is unreal.

I went up this year! Didn't spot anyone from RMS (I don't think I've met any of you in real life) but had a good look around a car I recognise from on here: the Mondeo Si 4x4, whose owner's name I can't remember. Does anyone know any photographers or groups who took photos? I feel like playing 'spot my car hiding in the background'.

The prep and presentation of many, many cars on display was nothing short of astonishing. I arrived at 9:30 and there were lads deep in their cleaning rituals. If I hadn't decided last night after a couple of pints that I'd go, I too might have been so well organised. But I hadn't, so I didn't, so my car wasn't as clean as I might have liked.

Stars of the show for me were undoubtedly the blue Mk2 Transit (you had to see it to really appreciate how tidy it was), the Capri with one owner since 1973, probably every Sierra Cosworth, and the Escort that had been cordoned off. Hearing the owner's story sold me on the car being something truly special.

@jonny_w: I got some noise off K66 when we were leaving the show along the same route. It sounded every bit as good as it looked, I can assure you.

Great show once I found it...arrived at the normal spot and no cars!!! Didnt realise there was a new location...opppsssss!
Saw @BarryPort, @Mark King at a distance and heard Jason with the Mustang getting a wee interview....

Ahhh that was you standing behind me! I asked myself about 5 times ‘Is that RickyB?’
Apologies for not reaching out.

Great day, prob my favourite car show on the callander but a serious hangover delayed car cleaning duties and I was that late they wouldn’t let my car in. My bad.

Thanks for the write up @Cooper , the only downside to your reports is the realisation I’ve missed a few cars on the day when you think you’ve seen it all!

I had a great day, even my wife who has no interest in cars at all really enjoyed it. One day maybe I'll bring my car in to the show itself again.

I didn't see half of the stuff. Needed to have an hour at the crack of dawn to go round everything without the crowds. Immense event.

Who was the guy doing the announcing, by the way? First time at the show so I don't know the familiar faces from year to year although I got that his name was Alan.

I was very intrigued by the white ranger Trust Ford had there although it looked like someone had went a bit mad with the options, also the black Ranger named 'The Punisher' with the 10 inch lift kit. To say it stood out is an understatement!

Took a scoot up in the afternoon and had a quick run round, good turn out as always and safe to say it was a heck of lot drier than last year!

Never seen this vintage of Capri before

And err this 'Capri'... Apparently imported from Australia, owner has 3 of them!

Spotted my old ST amongst the crowd, see he has removed the front splitter and sprayed the wheels silver. Really miss that turbo 5 cylinder noise.

First time seeing round the new ST, nice thing and massive improvement inside. Still had paperwork in the glovebox from Geneva. Also, 200 odd BHP from a 3 cylinder!

And finally, probably one of my favourite cars there.

@soupz: I'm right behind that Anglia, which came in a few minutes after me and was cleaned to perfection by the owner where it sat. Class looking thing. I didn't see it on the way out though. I had a look at those two Australian Capris as well. Strange cars from the Ford / Mazda relationship, but I quite like them. The owner must find something to like in them if he has three!

@Mark King: I heard a few disparaging comments in the crowd hence my curiosity, but I get why he does the presenting. He's got the right personality for a show of that size and calibre; for anyone only up for a nose around he makes the whole thing a lot more approachable.

He would be the mascot of Portrush & Ramore Complex (shared title with Willie Gregg) and was the main face of Kelly’s nightclub in its hay day.
Not a bad spud - as you say someone has to stick their neck out to get the atmosphere going, and as representatives of Northern Ireland we reward his efforts by pointing & laughing.
