Component Protection Removal

I have purchased a unit for my Vw that requires the Component Protection removed.When the unit was switched on after turning the cars ignition on,it says on the infortainment screen' Component Protection Active'. Just wondering can anyone on here point me in the right direction to have this sorted please.
