Wonder what happened before that clip starts, why all the tooting from the camera car at what was a reasonable overtake?

The overtake itself may have been fine assuming he could see enough of a clear road ahead which seems plausible, but overtaking them slamming the brakes on in front of someone would be pretty damn close on dangerous driving.

No doubt if the police are involved they'd want to see more than that short clip....if they take any interest in it at all.

Looks to me that he was your typical tailgating p***k that seems to think driving up your hole gets him somewhere faster. Tighten him!

looks like he could see more than you, pretty sure he rides a bike with that style.

old folk driving at 30mph dont cause accidents,
they only cause other drivers to make poor decisions because of them.
Not a hope in a hidden dip that makes the slight left blind.

The "poor decision" is the cause of blame. Someone else's speed isn't a factor, if you're making the decision you are responsible - and people are perfectly entitled to travel at 30mph if they want.

Not if they are holding people up with their inconsiderate driving. And questions would need to be asked about the competence, eyesight and ability/mental state of someone driving far below any speed limits and causing huge queues....often oblivious to the fact, unless there was very good reason for it.

Poor decisions are quite often a problem....and driving excessively slow without good cause is also a poor decision.

If the driver of the lead car doing 30 in an NSL is the biggest issue you find in that clip, maybe it's your competence, eyesight, ability and mental state that need checked..

It's a speed limit, not a target

I can see it from both sides. If someone hasn’t the competence to drive at more than 30 in a 60 then they should be evaluating if they should be on the road. There is also no reason why you should put yourself or anyone else in a position of danger by overtaking like that because of the lack of speed of someone else.

No excuse for dangerous overtaking but if you look in the mirror and you’re holding up traffic as far as you can see then maybe it’s time to pull over and let them past.

Was there not something about trekturz having to pull over with 7 or more vehicles behind or something like that, or did I just imagine that ?

Do not hold up a long queue of traffic, especially if you are driving a large or slow-moving vehicle. Check your mirrors frequently, and if necessary, pull in where it is safe and let traffic pass.

But that doesnt touch on the blind, incompetent or ignorant aspects of someone who would deliberately drive so slow as to hold up long queues etc.

Mirrors. All mirrors should be used effectively throughout your journey. You should

  • use your mirrors frequently so that you always know what is behind and to each side of you
