Been doing my research on air filters.. some of the carbon fibre induction kits for rs3 are ranging from £700-£1200 😱 with most not making any gains at all and a few actuality loosing bhp 🧐

The good old trusty K&N panel filter is the best bang for buck going by the owners clubs as it has proven gains over standard and found a brand new one on Ebay for only £45.. checked the k&n website to make sure it fitted my car and all matched up 😎

Its some size, didnt realise the air filters where so big on the rs3 🤯

My cousin will hopefully throw it in for me this week since i dislocated and broke my finger last week 🤮 on that note if anyone wants to wash the car for me for the rms meet 😂

HG Motorsport also do a nice intake pipe which compliments the filter well and is generally as effective as the full carbon setups on the PFL (unless going for big power).

Can normally be sourced in UK via ebay or just order direct.

They seem decent quality and fit is good, but make zero difference (as does filter). Maybe would be more of a benefit on a mapped car.

My aim for rest of this year is
  • Air filter
  • Secondary De Cat
  • Spacers
Then in the new year get a map.

Still not sure about lowering due to front splitter and side skirt extensions😒

Is there anywhere locally that can recalibrate the mag ride if you go with springs?

Thats another reason thats making me hesitate with lowering, i rang Audi to see would they recalibrate the mag ride after lowering and due to after market suspension they wont touch it 😭

Spoke to Paul the rs specialist out in Gilford and he said he has lowered a couple of RS cars without re calibrating the mag ride and said they are fine after.

Ill go spacers first and make my mind up from there 😎

Came across 12mm & 15mm spacers for sale on the Northern Ireland Audi Owners Club at humble money and it would have been rude not to since they have been on my to do list.

Originally had planned to go for 8mm and 12mm but im glad i took a chance on the wider ones, as i dont think 8mm on the fronts would have done the front arches any justice.

Pictures from the car parked up today at the dollingstown show.

Amazing what a difference a small mod can make, my current car is the first I ever fitted spacers to and it will certainly be the first thing I fit to any future purchases,

Looks great Bronk. Didn’t get seeing you at Gracehall today, but spacers look a good job in the photos.

Going by those pics it doesn’t need lowered imo. Spacers and skirt extensions seem to make it look lower, save the money for engine mods :imp:

i agree, dont think ill touch suspension yet :monkey:

On the hunt now for a secondary de cat pipe, although the car is now sitting parked up in the garage now with going for a operation on Wednesday on my hand, dislocated and broke my finger last week and need a piece of bone removed then a wire in my finger to help it knit +o( So going to assume be no driving for a while after operation :confounded:
