Epic weekend with a totally electric feel about it, up until The Milkman appeared on Fanad 1 on Sunday with news of an accident... Hard to comprehend what has happened, Manus was a superstar of Donegal and Irish Rallying, he was a model human being... tragic tragic end to the rally, here is the hardest video I have had to put together ever... I sat in tears on Monday putting it together... he will never be forgotten! "The King of Donegal"

Some positive news since the weekend. Ken and Alex really enjoyed themselves. Fantastic advertisement for Irish Rallying. Alex said on Tuesday night that they will be back next year..... and if ken isn’t, he will be.

Breen getting a seat in the WRC for Finland is another positive.

Tough to take but the show must go on.

Some great footage in that (y)

I enjoyed it, he was clearly very impressed with the rally and the welcome he received.
They did well not to mention that he missed most of the Friday stages.

Wonder what the spec of the car is, it doesn't sound like a Cosworth from the era.
It would be good to see him come back again.

To be fair, I watched their video of the NZ rally and the on stage stuff wasnt great either but you can see they learned a bit on that one and the donegal footage was better. Makes you realise how good the local guys that capture footage are. There is a fair amount of it knowing the right corners that work etc but they did a good enough job for their first time at the event both in terms of driving and the coverage. There were so few miles on that car, it's a wonder it did as well as it did for what is a completely unknown spec.
Fair play to him for coming to donegal when he could have gone anywhere and that video is a great endorsement for the event.

Original Group A block and internals but engine management and all the ancillaries that were causing all the reliability issues have been upgraded to newer stuff (turbo, cooling etc).

Gearbox is a newer unit I think, they had cooling issues with the original grpA one.

Basically R5 suspension. They changed the suspension to Gravel shocks and tarmac springs after the test on Monday and that is what he used for Donegal but that’s a pretty standard setup for 4wd cars here.

Was speaking to Alex on Tuesday night and he said it is a special event and he is pretty sure they will be back.

It's got such short ratios that to hear it you'd think it's changing far too early, same as Donnelly's Corolla from a few years ago

That top section of knockalla where it hooks around to the right is ****ing terrifying at speed. Looking at a few yards of road then a few seconds of air time before you’re in the Atlantic.

Only driven it in anger 3-4 times but palms are sweaty just watching that again.

Great onboard footage of Ken there and it looks like some machine he has built there, acceleration and handling looks epic for its class.

The incar just confirms that. The ratios are really close. It’s just bang, bang, bang up the gears off the line.

From the side of the road, it is deceptively quick, especially when you see some of the times he posted. Very little noise or drama, the thing just seems to grip and go.

It seems to look slow from the outside at times but just seems to be decently sorted with little noise, quick and composed.
