Double Din for an EP3

So, I'm sitting here looking at my Pioneer AVH-A3100DAB, ready to fire it into the EP3. I know I need a fascia to fill the gap around the headunit once installed, but the kids im seeing have these little wings with them. Are they needed or not, do i just need the fascia?

Ritchie's in Ballymena have a fascia kit in stock for me. I'll get this thing fitted today or tomorrow.

For future reference, you will need those wings for a Pioneer head unit.
