A lot of big news this year, one being VW Action are coming to Bishopscourt, the main man Brian Burrows is heading over whilst he has some free time from organising the next big one at Santa Pod ( we will be there with 12 racecars
) He's no stranger to going quick, his own car Outrage II with a 2.8 litre autocraft flat 4 on Hilborn fuel injection and methanal, force fed with a turbocharger and just to add a little fizz a shot of gas, went 7.70 @ 162mph, backed up, a world record in its class which was set ( wait for it ) back in 1993, a record that has never been broken to this day.Check out his prize.
A real boost for the Watercooled scene is that we have some serious sponsors on board.
Joe Power from TDR has offered up 2 places on his rollers for those Honda's who lay down the quickest E.T's of the day
Vince at Stealth Racing in the uk has put up a £50 cash prize for the quickest watercooled VW over 1320 feet on the day.
On top of this we have 5 categories all with racer supported trophies from the likes of Turboman, Express Coring, VW Spares.ie
£100 cash prize sponsored by The Luftkuhlers for the quickest VW Bus of the meet, any engine and transmission combo permitted.
The Airkraft "Top Gun Trophy" for quickest aircooled E.T plus cash prize for newcomers.
Bernard Newbury Spirit of the show ( THE BIG ONE ) an incredible prize up for grabs. His master trimming vs Snap On's Roll chair.

and i am personally blown away by the generosity we have been given this year., a big thank you to GTINI for their ongoing support of our (not so) little event that has made it to year 4 WOW.It is set to be a HUGE day, it has been frantic behind the scenes, but we are ready, check out the entry list, its an eclectic mix, we may have some special guests too as per the previous years who never fail to put on a show
So if you are at a loose end this Sunday, head down to Bishopscourt Airfield Circuit just off the Lismore Road Co.Down. Admission, adults £10 under 16s go free. It is without question the most laid back grass roots drag event on the calendar, full to the rafters with great cars, great racing and more importantly great people.
