Great wheel. Saw an E38 in Downpatrick today fantastic machine. The funny thing is all these people but F30’s trying to stand out yet every second car on the road is one.

Old school is the way forward for individuality

@AlpineF30 thanks, yeh theres lots of f30s about. But people buy the most basic one there is and kit them out with cheap parts making them into fake sports with cloth interiors
Proper m sports are nice
Its been a year since i saw an e38 where i live!

Alpinas look well! Definitely need to lower it in my opinion though.

Agree with @AlpineF30 about the current situation with F30s, people trying to stand out with daily repmobiles. Likely the same that wouldn't touch older BMs as they are too old etc!

Love the wheels

I would lower it personally, for the sake of springs and a couple hours labour, will look phenomenal

Instead of posting on the 'what have u done to your car today' thread i thought i should update this one

Havnt ordered tyres yet as i was waiting on new stock which has just arrived. So ill order them on monday

Ive done alot of little silly jobs, pics of them are little boring so ill just list what i done for most of them

-Replaced ccv valve

-Replaced radio control module which was burried in the boot. That fixed the broken radio which was great. Also cleaned horrible stains off the nav screen

20180625_214823.jpg

-Fixed a sunroof leak by dropping the headliner and checking for any obv problems such as cracked drain pipes etc. Of course everything looked fine, so i stripped the windscreen seal to find the sunroof drain holes blocked with crap.. result

-Fitted a new water pump

-Removed the tow bar

20180718_222904.jpg

-Dyed the rear parcel shelf black as it was faded to purple

20180719_210802.jpg

-Replaced heater valve and auxiliary pump

-Fitted oem xenon headlights tonight which makes such a difference to an e38
Absolutely love them

Im gradually improving the spec. Im spending alot of time (and money) on mantaince work which i wasnt really expecting but i guess big old v8s need attention which i will happily give

I gave it a bit of a detail on weds night, which included detarring, clay bar and a quick run with wax.

(pre xenon headlight upgrade)

Really enjoying driving the 7, the build quality is leagues above anything else from the early 2000's and even modern cars. Its so smoooooth, even at silly speeds.. and you just have to tickle the engine to reach them ;)

I've got more plans for it, not going to list them incase some dont happen as i change my mind alot... or maybe i just can't decide what i want :joy: ... (i want a 750 ) ...
But yeh, rear boot lip spoiler, alpona front lip spoiler and pressed plates will prob be the height of it

Bodywork will be sorted when she retires from daily driving duties come end off september as they will be passed on to a diesel daily  'diesel' +o(+o(
needa buy one 1st.. i dont even want to look for a derv ... ill start hunting for something cheap and reliable in September for uni
I was thinking an e46 320d coupe, but until then im enjoying every mile (y)

Thanks, Steve

Pleased with the lemon slices. Dissapointed overall though. I hadn't realised how faded the headlights were until i fitted the brand new slices. It looks stupid. So i either need to buy new lenses or make the existing ones cristal clear some how??. They're wrecking everything....

Ambers are lovely. Nice car. How do you have the motivation to keep a 540i and 740i.
Thanks they are a little different. I have a 525i too  540 will have to go either this summer or next summer  i hate selling things..

That looks sweet. Just needs dropped a bit imo.
Thanks trev. I agree but im waiting to see what it looks like with the alpinas
Just need the headlights wet sanded and buffed :grinning:
Could i do that myself ^o)

@Lyons i couldn't get a decent pic this morning. The filters make them more orange looking rather than yellow. Normally id be on for replacing orange with clears but since these are so rare i love them
They done a full orange indecator in them too
Tempted to make them into drl's but im not sure if that's legal over hear

For me the orange isn’t working, maybe looks better in the flesh than in pics. All I would do to that wagon now is drop it and fit a set of spacers. Would look incredible

Awesome car. Nice work.
However I agree, I'd go back to clear indicators.

Thanks guys, ive spent too much on the ambers to give up on them just yet. Im going to either fit new lenses to the xenons or buff them and that might make all the diff

I think once you get the headlights buffed it will all tie in. At the min they just look too dark compared to the bright new amber corners.

Looking forward to seeing the 21s on :grinning:
