Electronic rear caliper

Hi folks.

I'm changing changing discs and pads on a 16 tiguan r line. I used my Carista app to retract the piston for the pads.

When I was bringing the caliper over to put back I I found that the piston wasn't pulled in far enough. So I went back to the app to see if it would draw in more, I hit the wrong button and it pushed the piston out. Because there was nothing for the piston to press again it has pushed too far out.

Is there anyway to get this back in. The app is saying refused. The motor is trying to drive it in but its almost like the little bar from the motor to the back of the piston cannot catch. I've tried to clamp it back in to no avail.

A new caliper is £240

I think you can split the motor off the back and wind it back? pure guess tho

You can do this on my motor. volvo. I used computer also tho

I took the motor off and tried to manually turn the little male torx head to no avail. Going by the YouTube video you screw it until it stops and then it lets your press the piston back in. It's like the little bolt has come off the piston.
