In 2017 we saw wider and more aggressively styled cars, they were much faster and visibly far harder to drive. We saw the tightest championship battle in a long time with two of the very best drivers ever fighting it out nearly all the way to the end, and more than one team in the running.

We also saw far fewer overtakes - 435 to 866 in 2016 (don't ask who actually sat down and counted them all, lol, sure wasn't me :joy:), and a bigger gap than ever between the top three teams and the rest.

Will Ferrari step it up again? Will RB and Renault close the engine gap? Will McL be back where they belong with the Renault engine? Will any changes improve overtaking?

Is the halo thing actually approved and agreed yet? Not sure if it is, might be wrong though.

He's certainly doing very well out of driving a **** F1 car

Indycar, LeMans, etc., all in the middle of an F1 season. None of it would happen had the car been competitive :innocent:

McLaren have to let him do it in order to keep him happy lol

Fair play to him, not just sitting back counting his many, many millions of euros in wages.

Hope for the Russian. Daniil openly admits he lost his head after his Red Bull demotion then never showed any form back at Toro Rosso.

Maybe Ferrari can rehabilitate him back to his best.

Surprised he got in anywhere. Has anyone came back to a full season after being a test driver?

Don't remember fisichella coming back to a full season after ferrari..I may get googling.
I'm not sure about hence the Q mark. But it would have been prior to Ferrari, not after.

All great names of F1 :innocent:
Err, yeah. Well, Fisi was good enough, he had a couple of chances at the title, and if that wasn't enough, he drove for Ferrari for six races or something. And if you're and Italian driver in the pride of Italy, you are a hero. Even if your best finish is like 14th.

And yes, here are some better, confirmed, examples (rather than guesses)
Hulkenberg - Williams 2010, Force India reserve 2011, Force India 2011
Luizzi - STR 2007, Force India reserve 2008, 2009, Force India 2010
De la Rosa - Jaguar 2002, McLaren reserve 2003-2009, Sauber 2010 (13/19 races). AND McLaren reserve 2011, HRT 2012
Massa - Sauber 2002, Ferrari reserve 2003, Sauber 2004
Panis - Prost 2000, McLaren reserve 2001, BAR 2001
Heidfeld - BMW Sauber 2009 - McLaren reserve 2010 - Pirelli test driver 2010, Lotus Renault 2011 (although, he didn't finish the season)
Wurz, who I was sure about also didn't finish his return reason - Benetton 2000, McLaren reserve 2001-2006, Williams 2007 (did not finish, retired before last race) [and also then was test driver for Honda, Brawn and Williams].
Here's a good one for you. Badoer - Scuderia Italia 1993, Minardi reserve 1994, Minardi 1995. You thought I was going to mention Ferrari, right? ;)

without the power of Google - off the top of my quite drunk head, Justin Wilson. did he not do a lot of testing for someone? Williams maybe? before he did a season with jaguar?
or have I totally misunderstood the whole question haha.?
