Anyone know anything about this guy? Just seems like an odd pick. Two ex-fired drivers in TR next year.

Alexander Albon: Toro Rosso deal for 2019 for British-born Thai driver

He's a decent F2 driver from the races I've seen. But then he's been at big teams too (Dams and Art).

Shame for Brendon Hartley but I feel he's a much better sports car driver than single seat driver, he shouldn't struggle to find a job on the Le Man's series.

He took the fight for the F2 title all the way to the last race so he must be a decent pilot. The top 3 from F2 are all moving up to F1 next year, think that's the first time it happened since 1999.

Ah, so he earned it then. Just surprised at two older drivers in TR this year, both of them previously dropped by RB.

Kviyat is the other one confirmed for TR.

I suppose Gasly to RB counts for the RB young driver programme quota.
