There's a video from DHL on YouTube explaining logistics for the gear. There might be a load of kit making it's may slowly from Australia to China for example to wait there while the European leg happens by road with another set of kit.

Quite interesting, but I don't think they're freighting all the gear around from one side of the world and back again, just people and car stuff

Seen a video earlier I can’t share on here of the Las Vegas track layout. It’s going to be sh!t. Max Verstappen with his top speed could start from the pitlane half a lap after the rest of the field and lap half the field finishing 1st 30secs ahead of 2nd.

Basically a few 90° corners and 3 decent straights.

It is with great sadness that Williams has announced the departure of lavazza coffee as a sponsor. Founded in Turin in 1895, Lavazza has been owned by the same family for four generations. It is among the leading coffee roasters in the world and sells its products in more than 140 countries. Lavazza’s strategy of international growth has led to collaborations in the world of sport and they have supported Nicholas Latifi since 2016.
He’s also gone.

This would be the interesting bit (Google translate 😉):
Originally, the FIA detectives apparently found nothing suspicious. But the teams have slandered each other after learning from defectors how the opposing team calculates its costs and under what conditions it produces parts. Red Bull was therefore only on the second attempt in the sights of the auditors.
So there were hidden costs that only came to light following revelations by whistleblowers.

There is also a claim in the article that there was a "negotiation" in July between FIA and RB to agree what costs should be included or not. That smells a lot of the Ferrari engine saga a couple of years ago.

Basically the rules appear to be so loosely defined they are not enforceable in practice. And a team like RB will take advantage of that. Or Ferrari a couple of years ago.

This is the real issue. Teams will circumvent rules which cannot be effectively enforced. In the case of Ferrari it took the best part of a season and eventually a "rule change" to stop them. The same appears to have happened here - clandestine meetings to try to put a brave face on what is a fustercluck.

And this is just the budget cap. Never mind magic floors etc. we alredy know about, and whatever else they've been up to...

You would have thought, but it doesn't appear so. The rest appear to have played within the spirit of the rules and honoured the agreements made in good faith. Well, except the Ferrari floor 😇

Ferrari have even said they have run out of cash for this year, while we know RB have even more developments up their sleeves. They have out spent and out developed every other team by some margin. It's two full seasons of a development advantage now, that will not be easy for teams to make up even if all caps were dropped tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see what the official story will be, and how the rest of the paddock reacts to that. If it's just a slap on the wrist then the whole dev cap notion is out the window, null and void.

I think the AM one was already known, something to do with some technicality around when they bought the team? Not sure...

I guess we just have to wait and see.

Some pretty strong words from Horner today, talking about defamation and "taking strong action". Presumably he wouldn't do that if he didn't know they were about to get let off the hook... Whatever happens next week, and however it's presented or which way it goes, that won't be the end of it.

Interesting qualifying, lol. The most random conditions possible. Strong performance by Lewis, so close to pole. Alonso also nearly causing an upset. Max apparently ran out of fuel, and George had technical issues.

Don't know what the forecast is for tomorrow, but the Mercedes seemed to go well in those difficult conditions.
