I was en route to Drogheda, think I met you a short time ago on the road - eye catching car!

Given your mum knocked out a cracker couple bits herself, what’s her take on it? From an independent-ish second opinion / perspective

I think it looks dead on, and nobody is likely to say anything to you when they see it. But if you paid for perfect I think you’re well within your rights to be annoyed about it all

I'd be demanding a refund in full and sending it to someone honest and hard working.

Your images show enough areas for me to be annoyed for you. In a max power corsa 20 years ago, it'd be dead on looking.

Not in a Fezza, though.

Would you consider getting it all flocked?

Ah she thinks it looks great but she’d say that to make me feel better lol

It does look good but it completely contradicts the purpose of this build. There has been no expense spared and I wanted perfection - it’s anything but! I’m out significantly in time, money and hassle for this. Judging it on looks alone, it’s maybe a 7 out of 10 but given that the original leather still exists underneath, it’s a 5 out of 10 (being generous).

What annoys me is even if they refund me for the work, I’m still out £600 in material which I need to replace because I supplied it for them to trim.

If they offer to repair it, I’m absolutely not interested - I don’t want their poor workmanship near it!

Nah, flocked wouldn’t be my thing at all….

There’s alot in those photos that I couldn’t live with and would eat away at me. Terrible when this kina thing happens… you prob feel well done in with how much hassle you’ve went through and still not happy.

Useless people who claim they can do all but only interested in how quick they can get the job out the door for the money, very frustrating! 😡

It’s good but it’s not great.

I wouldn’t be happy given how fastidious you have been about doing everything else to an exceptional standard.

I’d ask him does he believe he can fix it; ie do what was originally discussed.

If he can’t he needs to come to some agreement to reimburse you and help put it right.

Yep, exactly. I’m a mere pleb and even the parts that I retrimmed myself (some of the pillars that didn’t need stitching), I repaired the foam or refoamed completely myself.

It’s a disgrace to think that a ‘professional’ who brands himself as ‘Northern Ireland’s PREMIER retrimming service’, would accept such poxy standards.

Anyway, I won’t let it go…he can give me money back and f**k off….

Here resumes the search to find the right guy… 😤

Haha sssshhhh!! I’ve ZERO free time and probably won’t for the foreseeable so this isn’t possible atm.

I have thought about it though! Lol
Mould One or Skin OEM?

there is a spare one on EBay looks handy just saying

You would be able to lay plain weave on that in a One Shot

I don’t see the point in making something heavier in carbon. For me, it would have to be moulded and a lightweight, resin-infused version made.

It would weigh a couple of kilos!

That said, if I could find an 8th day in the week, I’d consider it!
Where you up the four lane today?

Four lane?

Sorry Laner, back road from the motorway to Lisburn direction.

If so the young lad loved it, pulled up beside you and he put his window down to hear you.

Oh haha. Sorry, I didn’t know that road was called the ‘four lane’. Lol

Yeah. That was me. I saw a few people today with windows down and when I do, I usually drop a few gears lol

I think it was opened in '95 and other than the pedestrian crossing halfway along, there were no junctions so purpose built raceway. I had moved away in '90 but was back visiting the folks still at that point.

Shame about that Hash Arek left you mate, not good.

I was watching Discovery Turbo and Classic Car Resto was on. They used these guys and their work and workshop and actual work looked amazing. They do work for Bentley, Jaguar, Rolls Royce etc etc. Prototrim | Striking interior trim specialists

I know they are England again which is a PITA but might be worth a shout to get the level of finish your after.
