I think it's a 6 year perforation warranty, but I believe it's difficult to get ford to cover it. There should be spaces in your service book for dealer stamps showing the bodywork has been regularly inspected by ford themselves.
Most Fords now have a 12 year perforation warranty. However for it to be valid it has to have had the yearly inspection, this is normally done at the annual service and there is a space in the service book for the stamps. Also the warranty only covers rust from the inside of the panel so rust caused but stone chips etc will not be covered
I was told 3 year surface warranty and 12 year perforation when I got my focus. We had an issue with lacquer peeling on the rear quarter panel, didn't stand over it claiming the car wasn't brought back for its annual paint Inspection. I had to cover the repair, mileage at the time was 55,000.
