Ive heard too many stories about Quinn Direct and their way of trying to get out of paying in the event of claims, so ill stay away from them but thanks for the suggestion.

hmm i dunno, ring around to find out thats the only thing you can do, if u aint too far off 25 then be patient, no point forking out the money for a new policy with a company that allows you to drive another car which wil have to be registered under someone elses name and i assume ur going the whole classic insurance route? it will probably be just as cheap to insure it under your parents name and u as named driver.

Its for an M3 as I can put it under a garage policy then I can drive it hopefully using my fully comprehensive policy

hmm toughy indeed, keep trying coz m3 is waht group 20 ins? probably a rip off to insure even with ur parents as first driver and u as named driver. try others like open and direct, admiral, try ins companies that specialise in young male drivers and see. honestly u just have to keep flicking through the yellow pages and try each one.

For anyone interested the POstoffice are doing insurance 0800 169 6500 and while they arent the cheapest about the do proper Fully Comp for drivers U25, allowing them to drive other cars as third party.

Still got a price of £1300 from them though for a D Turbo 306 :?

I'm 22, fully comp through the AA. The problem is that the car ur trying to insure is an M3.

Thats not the problem. The problem is that im trying to insure a 306 D Turbo fully comp so as i can drive any other car, which is insured fully comp, third party. Unfortunately most insurance companies have caught onto this and now wont do such an insurance facility for under 25s.

Quinns are about the only company 2 cover you 4 any other car (3rd party) ive been with them about 7 years and no problems so far.

Also if you need cover for work they will do this as long as you dont use the car for the carriage of goods in connection with the business.

OK how did you manage to get 3rd party extensions with Endsleigh!? they are my broker and when i asked to upgrade to fully comp so i could drive other cars third party they said they couldnt for anyone under 25! wtf? ah well i was going to sell teh saxo anyway so i would have to have reinsured it after it ran out in november to validate driving another car third party, works out just as well to insure the new car fully comp with me as named driver

I got a relation in the car industry to call who knew someone aparently and that was the result. The also slashed £100 of the price of the insurance premium to get the business.

hmm id watch it sounds a bit iffy, u might have been lucky to have found an insurer who uses endsleigh who waved it and said theyd cover u to drive other cars.

Its all sweet as one of their arguements for me using them was that they offer third party extensions on other vehicles. Just have to pay the rest of the balance now on monday.
