Getting rid of plastic chemical smell

Just purchased a boot liner mat off eBay and there’s an awful smell of it a bit like bin bag material.

Any tips for any products that might get rid of the smell?

I've bought those things a few times, I don't think there's much for it other than time and air - leave it in the shed or garage for a few days and the smell will reduce a bit.

I’ll maybe just have to do that. I’ve tried other things such as baking soda and zoflora solution on it but can’t seem to shift the smell.
My 4 year old is brutally honest about how bad the car smelled with it in

I have bought those type of things too but after a few days the smell goes. Set it in the garage for 2 or 3 days then back in the car.

give it a good wash ?

Then add some Lenor, make it smell wonderful lol

If only it was that easy!

A good wash with plenty of soap/detergent would at least make some difference though, or even leave it lying outside for a few days

Get some coal, yes coal and place it on top of it and leave it in garage for a day or so. Honestly not taking the hand. It works.
