Noting to exciting but to go with the shifter I ordered some nice new motorsport gear cables.

As i need things to progress with the car I need a plated welded into the rear of the car. Long story short I cut the rear floor out to replace it with a Golf Rallye floor which i had purchased many moons ago and when the guys where doing my driveway they decided to bin the floor on me so it never made it into the car. So I`m left with a hole in the floor and no mounting points for a the original petrol tank which i don't have either. So the plan of attack now is to get someone to weld a plate into the car so I have some kind of boot floor possibly get it skinned in Carbon and mount a fuel cell to the under side of it or locate a mk2 petrol tank and get it mounted up either way i need todo something soon as this will allow me to progress with the rest of the work.

If anyone knows someone who would tackle this let me know.

If you have the metal floor shape Tufty I could make you a full Carbon replacement would be dead handy.

Choose thickness and use a foam core for ultra stiffness

Just use the proper adhesive & your laughing I use Vudu Glu for Composite to Metal

Deep down inside I was hoping you would reply with that. I even was talking to the wife there and telling her and she said why don’t you ask but you have answered for me 😂

Mate I have a handful of projects that I am buttoning up for US folks in the next week or 2.

After that free for whatever

Exact same process of a rear quarter panel proto type as in 1st and 2nd pull from mould.

Metal panel>make a mould>make part from mould

So a little update.

Today I finished off the job of upgrading rear bearings and stub axle’s to the Polo GTi set up. This set up does away the old press in style bearings and now it’s a matter of bolt on bolt off type. Any how I have a list of stuff a head of me to sort then it’s off to a friends workshop and he will be fitting all the brakes fuel lines and wiring loom once that end of things are done it’s back to my garage to fit the engine and get it running then Mot. I will look at paint at a later date.

Good to see it still progressing.

Will you be going to Dubshed? Could this car possibly attend next year?

It could if I keep the head down and get on with building it which is the plan. Longer nights in the garage and lots of parts on the way to keep me busy.

Todays purchase Ball Joint extenders and Tie Rod flip kit.

If i bought an RS6 now the Golf would never be done. So having actually got the rear bearings done and dusted its got my mojo back to work on with the car and get it knocked out of the park.

Tonight I am hopeful that i will get the front Calipers mounted up and that will be an other item ticked off the todo list.
