Due to consistently good claims performance of our schemes with our Underwriting panel upon the mainland, we have managed to negotiate an enhancement to several of the products that we offer both upon the mainland and within the province.

Providing both vehicles are covered with the Underwriter in question and you are claim free for the duration of the discount claimed (ie. 4yrs free of non-recoverable claims = 4yr equivalent concession allowed) the NCB can be mirrored to your 2nd car.

Historically we could accomodate everyday cars on this basis with open market Insurers, but this change opens up our schemes for performance/modified vehicles.

So, if you need a quotation for your second performance vehicle and have 5 mins spare bear us in mind.

Kind regards

Tony

NB. There will also be a driving restriction and the Underwriters reserve the right to withdraw this facility in the event that they feel it is being used and abused as (ie. covering a 2nd driver who does not have driving experience, young driver on parents policy, provisional driver).

Hi Tony,

My Everyday motor is a bmw 330ci sport and my 2nd motor is a 1995 mk4 Supra Twin Turbo (Jap Import).

The Policy on th BM policy is up next month :sob:

Can you accomodate a jap import car as the 2nd vehicle? I know that you don't if it is a primary car.

Cheers
Jamesy

Is there a minimum limit to how many mods a car needs to become insurable by yourselves.
I know I asked you about insuring a second car on the same policy before Tony just last week or so and it was not possible.
For eg... If my second car simply has a set of aftermarket alloys and no performance mods as such would that be ok? I would not want to do many performance mods to a daily driver for obvious reasons.

Morning All,

Rather than reply in several posts I felt it best to respond to you all in one, so here goes:

Business within the province has been performing well since our launch last summer and we've been meeting with our Underwriters over the last 6 weeks with a view to expanding the parameters of our Northern Irish products.

The areas that have been targeted for the first wave of expansion are:

1) 2nd car NCB
2) Japanese import models

Having met with our lead Underwriter earlier this week we discussed the first stage of enhancements with the following outcome.

The 2nd car NCB match has been agreed with the following criteria

1) NCB will be mirrored providing you are free from Fault/non-recoverable claims for the period of the concession being mirrored (min 3 years claim free)

2) You will start from zero years upon the mirrored policy and NCB will be earned separately upon the 2nd vehicle, but you will be credited the percentage discount equivalent to the years earned upon the first policy (ie. 4yrs NCB upon first = 65% 0 Years on 2nd)

3) We specialise in covering performance model vehicles (both standard & modified) and at this stage can only cover these vehicle models

4) We will need to cover both vehicles with the Underwriter to be able to mirror the NCB under the current scheme we have available

(DjLee_dj) Engine conversions for 2nd cars can be covered and where applicable limited mileage concessions are allowable

Japanese import models

1) All imports are currently excluded

2) We have been conducting due diligence in conjunction with our Underwriters over the last 6-8 weeks with a view to including certain models.

3) The underwriter is currently assessing their performance for each individual imported model to ascertain which models they are able to include.

4) Once concluded they will revert and we will post the vehicles we are able to cover under a separate import specific thread upon this forum

5) We will also be able to cover modifications/enhancements to import models that are acceptable under the broader scheme

Further scheme expansion is planned in addition to that listed above and the inclusion of further Underwriters to boost our current Northern Irish product range.

We are convinced that the Province represents an ideal place to do business, with a stong specialist vehicle community and will expand what we can cover as we go.

At this stage it's about backing our belief by statistically proving the province to be the viable proposition to our Underwriters, which is happening but does take time.

Kind regards

Tony

Thanks for the quick reply. I hope that your stats for the Supra prove favourable.

Knowing most of the guys in the Supra Ireland club this should work out with a bit of luck. Their Supra's are all treated better than their children, pets and wives :p

OK..

Good news Jamesy,

We have received a positive reply in relation to the Imported vehicles and are able to cover selected models (of which the Supra models are one).

I'm going to post a separate thread early next week but from your personal perspective with effect from 01st June we are able to entertain both the UK and most imported Supra models.

Kind regards

Tony
