Hatchback or Estate - £1k

I am on the lookout for a cheap hatchback or estate (needs to be big enough for a lab and cocker spaniel in the boot so no saloons please). Something in decent mechanical order with MOT. Not overly bothered if it is petrol or diesel. Towbar would be a bonus.

Budget of £1k but could increase it slightly for the right car.

Unfortunately a grand doesn’t buy a lot at the moment. What about a CRV or Rav 4 type of thing.

Bought a 1.9tdi Octavia today for half my budget. Good driving car with plenty of history. Will do me until I find the right Volvo or Saab estate.
