This is my new car, a 1995 Honda Civic 1.5 Lsi ej2.

I had been searching the internet for a few weeks looking for an ej2, eg6 or eg9 when this car came up.

I bought the car from a guy in London on Friday and took it home on the ferry. The car drove great on the 450 mile trip home and there isn’t as much as a rattle from it. The interior is in good condition as well.

The car has 82k miles on it and currently has a D15b7 engine.

The exterior isn’t in the best condition but I’m not to bothered about that and will get to it at some point.

Short terms plans are to get a Vtec engine in the car and fix any issues that I’ve inherited with the car so it’s driving nice.

A friend has pointed me in the direction of type two in dundonald for Honda work so I’m going to check those guys out but if any one has any recommendations please feel free to share.

I seen a nice eg9 thread on here yesterday and it gave me a lot of ideas.

Long term I have an idea of how I would like the car to look which would be keeping it quite similar to the original.

Some dints and scratches to deal with and definitely needs a respray.

This will be the first car I have taken on as a project so really looking forward to it.

Some pics and thanks for looking.

Looks like a great base car to swap something into! What engine are you thinking of?
I’m not 100% sure yet, from what I can see online a B18 engine swap is relatively popular and seems to be very cost effective.

Still to look at all options.

I’m pretty sure it was your eg9 thread I read every page of yesterday. Loved what you done with that and wouldn’t mind replicating it but where do I start lol

Thanks, will give you a shout if I need anything 👍

Always loved that colour
It’s growing on me the longer I have it but I’m not sure if I will keep it this colour long term.
Undecided yet what colour to choose.
K20 only engine swap worth doing now the b18 isn't in same league
I’m looking at both options at the minute.
There doesn’t seem to be an lot of either of them about. Price doesn’t seem to different either but I’ve heard a lot of people say the k20 is a more expensive engine to buy

It really depends what you’re after I guess. A b18c will be lots of fun and a fairly straight forward swap. However if it’s bigger bhp figures you’re looking for, then a k20 or h22 is the way to go imo.

You could get a complete b18cr swap for around 2k

Off the top off my head I’d say 3.5-4k for a kswap (type r, Which is the one you’ll want) Depending on what parts you use.

Or go H2B H22 w/b series box, More power than the b18 and should work out cheaper than the K20.

Cool car pal, don't see or hear of many now. Had a few back in the day.

Personally I'm a big fan of the B18c engine. The bark of them on crossover is way better than H22 or K20. Alot hard to get figures out of tho compared to the K20, but then it's all down to the man mapping and his dyno.

Quick pic just for me to go down memory lane 🏎

I'll be watching this with interest looks like a good base mate! I love 90s hondas and the more I look at them the more I'm thinking of selling my boring as hell Leon and getting one! Trouble is it's difficult to find a decent one over here so maybe buying one over the water as you did would be the way to go!
