But when VTEC kicks in, the butt Dyno will register a 100bhp increase, an open cone is a must on a VTEC!

Yea I know - an aem will put the bejesus into u at 6k ! I’m sure this will be good too.

I’m tempted to put 2 kn on the w12 for the note, but apparently it kills the mafs on them.

Is there no way to isolate the filter with heart shields to eliminate the soak though?

I see a lot of E36 owners doing it with supposed success. I'm happy with mine how it is, but I imagine a box of some sort where the air flow is forced around the cone would be ok?

There is like a heat shield type thing comes with the kit but I doubt it will do much

Standard airbox or long arm intake will prevent it.

I had that K&N kit on mine. Didn’t notice much heat soak. Maybe a slight hesitation in the throttle if stopped in traffic but soon cleared once moving again.

Nice noise from it on the F20.

That’s all I’m after tbh. Was thinking about doing the exhaust mod on it too but I think the intake will be enough

Got Mc grath to check it over there yesterday. It has some surface rust on the suspension arms but all the rest is fine underneath. So happy days on that
He also fitted this, makes a great noise at 6k rpm

Great piece of mind,. Get them off and tidied up.


I have the longer one to go on behind the front bumper and I’m actually sorting the other engines bits at the minute.

I will I’ll give you a rip in it. That intake makes such a good noise, I’m not going to bother touching the exhaust
