Strange thread title but what I mean is what way do you go about it?
Do you know what you want or are you easily swayed? Do you have a list of requirements it needs to satisfy or do you let the heart rule the head? Does the body type play a part in the decision or whether it's front, rear or four wheel drive?
Or do you just buy something that appeals to you that is supposed to be a fairly decent motor?
My scenario (caution rambling ahead)
I'm in the mood for a new (oldish) daily driver and I've been doing more procrastinating than getting around to buying.
I've considered all sorts of cars : VW Corrado G60, Saab 9000 Aero, Audi A6 Avant 2.7 Bi-turbo, Volvo T5-R, Toyota MR2 Turbo (2nd gen.), 1st and 2nd gen. Mazda MX-5, Honda CR-X (2nd gen.) Subaru Legacy, Jeep Wrangler (not sure why at all regarding this one!), Renault Clio Williams, Renaultsport Clio Cup .... and about all they have in common is that they would have manual gears, run on petrol and mostly be fairly quick. Maybe not the Jeep.
I think part of the reason I haven't bought anything is because most of the cars that take my fancy are in England and I can't be bothered going over on a car hunt. Another concern is that it won't be allowed a space in our garage because there aren't any. I know a lot of people seem to keep a car about fifteen minutes and then sell it on for the next one but I tend to keep them for a good while.
[edit] forgot a couple on my list of possibles: Alfa Romeo 166 3.0 V6, Fiat Coupé 20v Turbo.
