My dad has asked me to sell his Ifor Williams trailer on his behalf as it is now surplus to requirements.

It’s an 8x5 twin axle braked trailer. It is in excellent condition with no dents or damage. It has never been used as a builder trailer and was mainly for transporting furniture to their house in Spain when it was being built. The trailer spent most of its life in a garage at the house in Spain and was only brought home when the house was sold.

The floor is in excellent condition and the tyres are in good condition. It is also equipped with a spare wheel and ladder rack. Fitted with lighting which works fully.

My dad is asking £1795. Come and see the trailer for yourself to see it’s condition. Located in Ballymoney.

No timewasters and no ‘cash da nite’ type offers please.

I’m after something like this but would expect more than a £200 saving over a new one.

Rough ones are going for 1500 on the likes of DoneDeal and gumtree. He is in no rush to sell so won’t be letting it go for buttons. If you’re interested, make an offer and I’ll put it to him.

well, its a £600 saving unless you're VAT registered.

and if you are VAT registered, you may get 100% taxable allowance if you use it for work.

still, looks exceptionally clean. I have a 8 x 6 Ifor williams with the caged sides, and think i spent similar money for a trailer which was clean, but wasn't in as good condition, and i would never let it go now - just so handy!

Thanks @Big Pimp . At the end of the day it is priced according to other similar ones for sale. As with cars, you’ll pay a bit more for something in good condition as opposed to something that’s had a hard life.

ah, that's what i get for speed reading.

only reason i was talking about VAT is we have an Ifor box trailer for sale, but the guy who was going to buy it went and bought a brand new one at over £1k more than our was, but he was getting 100% tax relief through his accountant for buying new.

To be honest for £200 I would think most would buy new and get warranty and dealer backup. Haven't a clue what used trailers make but they have got to suffer a bit more depreciation I would have thought over the time.

Folks with all due respect, if you aren’t interested in the item at the price it is advertised, don’t buy it.

You wouldn’t walk into a shop and say that’s overpriced, I think it should be this price.

I’m happy for anyone to view the item in question and make a sensible offer.

As someone looking for a clean secondhand trailer (albeit a smaller one than the one in this thread), I can confirm that they don't depreciate very much at all. People with tidy trailers don't tend to part with them, with the result that others ask £400+ for illegal home brew lash ups or knackered ex-hire stuff.

I have discussed it with my dad and he has lowered the price to £1500. NO OFFERS.

Viewed this the other night when lifting the Patrol. Not for me as I'm VAT registered, but it really is in excellent condition and would be worth buying at £1,500 for someone who isn't in business.
