Independent BMW specialist in Upper Gallwally or surrounding area??

Hi folks

I've found a BMW that I'm interested in in the Upper Galwally area of South Belfast and would like a independent BMW specialist to give it a good look over. Is there an indie in Upper Galwally? If not, in the surrounding area? I've found Performance Auto Centre, which might be an option. I'm on the Mainland so the seller would need to take it to them, so don't want it to be too far away.

I'm not a mechanic so I don't have the expertise to tell if a car is a lemon or not!! Bought a B6 S4 in Belfast 5 years ago without viewing it. Got the owner to take it to an Audi specialist and they gave it a good going over - diagnostics before and after a 10 mile run, on the ramps and looking for all the tell tale faults - and bought it on the recommendation of the mechanic. If it was his money, would he buy the car. It's never let me down and love it!! Some might say that is foolish but I could have paid for a flight across, bought it without it being looked over and it could have gone wrong.

Any help and recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

James

Thanks IL. I'll look in to Auto Technic tomorrow. What is the approximate going rate for an Indie in Belfast?

I honestly dont thing you will find anyone is willing to do this, nowadays too much liability, keyboard warriors, leaving bad reviews if things go any way in the least slightly wrong. I would get asked to do this maybe a few times a month but gracefully decline. There was a specialist used to advertise this service but their name escapes me. I think you would be covered under distance selling law if you bought without viewing

Hi Wild Thing. Thanks for your reply. I've had a garage look over my last 3 cars (1 in NI and 2 on Mainland) and they all had no problem with that. To me the check over is a like a MOT, it's only valid for that day. Can you recommend a garage in the Upper Galwally or surrounding area?

An AA or RAC check would be a very good alternative. They aren’t expensive and they are very comprehensive in what they look for.
