Me and a couple of mates are planning a mini road trip in September.

The current plan is 2 nights away. Driving from Bangor to Donegal to do the the Inishowen 100. First night stay somewhere along the route. Second night Port Stewart. Last day finish down the Antrim Coast back home. Nothing massive as the cars are classics. Anyone have any recommendations/must do’s/accommodation tips?
Or know any other better alternative trips as nothing is booked or set in stone. Wild Atlantic Way was the first choice but we couldn’t manage that in one weekend.

McGrorys Culdaff is a good spot to stay. Rooms, pub, restaurant and decent food. Or there's a few nice hotels in Ballyliffin. Both are roughly half way round your loop of the peninsula.

Great choice of route  Inishowen is lovely and Malin Head beautiful. One of my favourite spots You don't strictly need three days, two days would be plenty for what you proposed. But I get you want to take it easy, enjoy the sights, and socialise along the way.

You could extend it just a wee bit to take in Glenveagh NP, and the "Atlantic Drive" round Rossguill Peninsula, in Donegal. Basically next to Inishowen. The "Atlantic Drive" is stunning on a good day, there's nothing like it. One of the best scenic routes anywhere in the world.

Thanks. I’ll have a look.

Thanks, I’ll say to the boys to maybe make the trip a bit longer. Or maybe see what the weather is like at the time.

McGrorys in Culdaff or Inishowen Gateway hotel in Buncrana would probably make most sense as you could plan your route so that it’s at the end of the trip.

I forgot to update this, we did the trip. It’s was awesome. It didn’t take too long, you could actually do it in one long day if you wanted to.
We stayed overnight in The Harbour Inn. Dinner was decent and there’s a great bar up the road called The Drift Inn.
