Hi Guys,

With the launch of our Northern Irish scheme you now have a further Insurance provider that is both competitive, has very good technical knowledge in respect of vehicles/modifications and offers relevant cover to the vehicle enthusiast.

We have mirrored the cover that our mainland specialist vehicle schemes have, which is as follows:

Specialist cover (you receive this cover in in conjunction with below)
1) Like for like replacement of modified parts that are damaged or stolen
2) Agreed value option for heavily modified vehicles
3) Track day cover extension (£50/day excess doubles)

Regular cover
4) Unlimited windscreen cover (comprehensive cover only)
5) £500 Audio/stereo (comprehensive cover only)
6) European policy extension (up to 90 days free cover in EU countries)
7) £100,000 legal expenses cover
8) 24hr claims management
9) Courtesy car whilst in for repair (Comprehensive cover only)
10) Guaranteed hire car (Comp cover only - 14 days for theft/total loss/write off claims)
11) UK Mainland based (NO OVERSEAS FOREIGN) call centres
12) No HIDDEN excesses, we ALWAYS quote the total excess

The above is a summary of the main cover extensions that form our overall policy cover.

Your comments as to your current Insurers policy cover in order that we can compare would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Tony

Thanks JDM..

We're finding our feet out there and wanted to ensure that you guys receive decent relevant cover.

I didnt want this to be a chore, but RMS members experiences with Insurers along with cover details would be great and would help us to fine tune our products or service to suit what members are looking for.

Good or bad experiences (ie. what you like/dont like) about your Insurance providers would be great, as this will help us react to exactly what the RMS/Northern Irish performance/modified community are looking for.

Kind regards & many thanks in advance for your assistance!

Dont Think many would see it as a chore Tony when you can provide better competition for other insurance companies. I know with Quinn Direct when you are 3rd party F&T, they allow you to drive other cars aslong as they arent reg to you, which allows people to fiddle insurance. But you have good terms with the like of the like for like with modified parts. Even doing the modified cars, parts and high performance is a bonus.

Third party rights on third party cover like the likes of quinn direct and bell do would be nice, for under 25's too.

The driving other cars extension is provided by Insurers and is not there to 'work the system' by running a 2nd car under.

Named drivers receiving NCB is presumably aimed at the young driver who had been covered upon their parents policy in the first place. The questionable part of named driver bonus is that unless the named driver was declared as the main user (which they rarely are) there is no way of establishing as to the exposure they had to the vehicle (ie. they could be named but never even touched the pedals).

Most Insurers are fully aware of the parent covering the vehicle for the young driver in their name, which is something that I wish to point out we will not be looking to do.

There is no way that we would be rewarding a young named driver by presenting them with NCB when they have been potentially depriving an underwriter of premium by covering under their parents name by falsely declaring the parent as the main user.

As you get to know Greenlight, you'll find that we do a really good job but will always do things the right way and will not condone attempts to defraud Insurers.

Of the two listed above, there is an occupational influence & restriction in respect of some motor trade employees but other than that the Driving other cars benefit is included for open (non-limited) mileage policies where the policyholder is aged 25+. This benefit purely applies for the policyholder & the vehicle driven must be roadworthy along with having some form of cover in force by the owner of the vehicle.

Otherwise, with the TPO driving other cars cover being purely upon the person (ie. you), as soon as you walk away from the vehicle you would be effectively leaving an uninsured vehicle in a public place (the authorities in mainland UK are really hot on this, especially with the Motor Insurers Database in mind).

Your feedback is really useful, so please dont be shy.

Kind regards

Tony

Business Class?

I have to say i was very impressed with my quote from greenlight, its a third of what i was paying last year with bell.co.uk, and half of what bell offered to insure me this year.

Have to say i dont think i'll be dealing with an internet based company again as the policies arent all they seem on face value, and also bell lost my years no claims certificate last year and when you ring your speaking to someone in a call centre who doesnt really give a toss:worried:

keep up the good work tony(y)

Business use is available and would have only a minimal impact upon the premium if it involved commuting to various branches of your employer, who's details would be required.

Due to the nature of our policies (ie. looking to target enthusiasts with modified vehicles) we do not aim for workhorse/company car type use and thus full business use (Visiting customers & commercial travelling) will result in heightened excesses & premiums due the increased exposure (vehicle potentially being parked in public areas etc).

We can cover business use, but the terms will depend upon the extent.

Hope this helps..

I went with Open & Direct, purely because I got business use and a 3rd party extension to drive any vehicle. Quinn Direct wouldn't cover me to drive 4x4 or Jeep type vehicles 3rd party, which ruled out my dad's jeep and pickup.

Our 3rd party cover (driving other cars) extension would permit you to drive any other private car (inc 4x4 jeeps).

Van's, Trucks & Motorcycles would be excluded.

Tony Id say the above is a good package for us. even getting std cover can be tricky never mind nice things like track day cover.

on the subject of track day cover what does it cover? if you stack the car on the track?

Many thanks for the comments.

Northern Ireland has been a historically restrictive market, but with our launch we aim to help as many of you as we can with sensible premiums, decent relevant cover and staff with good technical knowledge.

Now, after all that - I hope you found that when using us

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Pablo,

The Track cover extension costs £50/day and your policy excess doubles whilst you are on track/airfield.

It has to be a fully marshalled non-competitive event.

Cover wise, it will either pay for damage caused or in event of a total loss/write off the market value of the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Hope this helps..

Tony
