That's maybe because if people get caught up here warning other drivers they would face a harser punishment.

I came down on Saturday afternoon and the traffic on the way along the N6 was just as bad as Sunday. 93 miles stuck at between 45-55 MPH going between 4th and 5th gear most of the way.

EUR6.30 = £4.50 (at 1.4 exchange rate over the weekend) - still more expensive than a McD's up here.

In fairness though, Galway City and the Salthill area seemed a lot better than most of the other places we passed through.

Do people get paid more on average down south since everything appears to be slightly more expensive than up here?

no most things apart from petrol are slightly more expensive, but then most people do get paid more down here than for the same job up north

like a tin of beer averages out 12p more per tin for example down here

na mate didnt, I'm off on two weeks hols now so I've came up north for a week then off to majorca next week.

I'm over in the west I think, on the way into Galway from the North/Sligo/athlone road, the first r about u hit go straight across, and the second u hit take left and you'll be headin in my direction, I live in wellpark grove:

experience has a big part to play in the pay aswell

at the mo cos I'm only a juniour I'm gettin paid about £1 more per hour than up north, but just wait till I've got a few years experience behind me , I'll be flyin down here :grinning: plus my companies moving to cork in the near future so that'll be a small pay rise also :grinning:

The south rocks... Love driving in it Cuz u can get away with anything...
Southern drivers are alot more coutious than northern nobs...

Main rds in south are 110%...Their B roads are very fun...

there is more miles of road in southern ireland then there is in england scotland and wales put together ( prove me wrong if ye can ) and thats why some roads are sadly lacking, smaller budget for more roads, ever try butter a piece of bread with a small amount of butter, not everywhere gets covered

I don't agree with you Brian...Its a pleasure to drive to Dublin now and all roads in the South are going to that high standard, just give it a few years yet. Going to the Sligo rally on Sunday so can update as its been a while since i've travelled down the West side but not looking forward to the road out of Enniskillen :confounded:
