A car
Know a few who compete in it and whilst it’s been a while since I went to mondello to watch it was very good back then and I’m sure it’s only got better since.
If the weather is playing ball it would defo be worth a watch

Think that's the plan as the weather is looking pretty decent this weekend, so far!

29 is Great Grid for kirkistown, plenty of carving through that pack! Do you run a DC2 in the Saloons?

I was hoping to be out for GT's but wont make until April or Maybe May Meeting.

Yes Integra DC2 in the ITCC/Saloon class... should be a good challenge this year!

I think the only GT out is the RSR Escort, what GT car do you hope to be out in? May is Bishopscourt which should also have a good turnout

Never having been to a race meeting at Kirkistown but driven past the circuit loads of times may I ask what the best viewing area is? Whilst I get the impression it is a compact circuit I also thought you may need a little height to get the best view and I haven't noticed one as such but then I am always driving and have my eyes primarily on the road.
Finally, is it a decent course to watch? I fancying one day for both the cars and bike meetings.

Where you out last season? straight white DC2?

I'll be entering an MG Midget, should be fit for the RSR (Millington one I assume you mean?)

I forgot May weekend was Bishopcourt, was in touch with Leinster MC, ITCC guys wern't happy with a GT running in with them.

They said I could run with Historics, it would be nice to get out at Bishopcourt but it would be a waste of time Race wise.

What's the spectator entry fee for the events?

£10 a Head or Free for 500MRCI Members. I think joining the club as a non-drive is £45 a year.

Normally it's £15 a head in now to the racing at Kirkistown, however for this Saturday only it is £10 a head with all gate proceeds going straight to the Air Ambulance which is great.

I am planning to head down myself and watch the early races. For those planning to go you should find the schedule on the 500 clubs Facebook page but the first race is due to be off at 11.20am with 4 or 5 races planned before the lunch break!

If you go make sure and cross the track into the middle (they open the gate between some races). Once in the middle you can move throughout the whole area and view the track from one end to the other. Personally I either watch at Colonial 1/2 or the chicane. From the chicane there is a slight mound you can stand on and get a good view of the whole bottom half of the track.

Yea straight white DC2

I remember the Midget out last year... the GT class cars are very impressive it’s just a pity that there aren’t more of them so that you can have a grid to battle with

Even out with the roadsports there are a few quick ones then a load that aren’t any quicker than the heavy Saloons

I have saw your car running, remember commenting that it was a) Quick b) Very Tidy!

The Midget running last year wasn't mine, it was a chap who has a grey one the same from South of England. It is exactly the same setup tho.

Who has the Current Saloon record? Armo on a 59 is it?

Ah right, the Midget and RSR were Rapid even at the weight that they are down to. I suppose space framed race cars are ideal as you can set the whole suspension geometry to what is ideal instead of being restrained by the shape of a saloon and it’s suspension pick up points, weight distribution etc

Yea I think his PB was 60.6, a couple of works Super Copa Leon’s went nearly a second quicker last year but you can’t compare a puspose built race car to a road car turned into a race car

My best laps are 61.2’s and can manage a few of them in a race. Hoping to break into 60’s this year but that last .2 of a second or so isn’t easy to find

Gutted I didn't see this event, I passed the rx7 in Dundonald and then a serious looking ep3 on my way into ards so I knew there was something decent on at kirkistown. Great day for it too
