jaguar xtype radio no sound

so I bought a jag xtype estate as a runabout and have no sound at all. I fitted another head unit from a parts xtype I have which worked perfect but still nothing.

- It doesn't have the premium sound system. so no external amp that I can see.

- It has reverse sensors which beep, I take it the sound is from the speakers so assuming they are ok

The unit is on and working just no sound.


apparently there is some sort if fibreoptic setup in these that sounds wildly overcomplicated.

Any help appreciated.

Iv an Estate braking here has a dab sony set up with no issues, can’t help with your problem as iv never encountered it but if you need any other bits that you don’t have let me know.

That car is probably one with the MOST (fibre) bus system. It sounds like a speaker wire might be shorting to earth and sending the amplifier into protection mode.
