Bought this wee mx5 to rip about in until my mk1 is finished

Wasnt gonna do much to it at all but as usual got carried away

Started by just fitting a spare set of wheels

Then coilovers

Stainless exhaust etc

Then made some brackets and fitted a merc m65 charger, retarded timing, rrfpr and o2 clamp

Goes well for what it is

Picked up a set of fiberglass mk1 sideskirts and a ducktail cheap and. Modified them to fit

I'll make a build thread for my mk1, its in bits atm fitting a diesel engine to run it on waste veg oil

I have one that I use for Targa rallies and autotests, obviously not been out this last year so pulled it apart and gathering it back together gradually. Mainly doing an engine build and as much lightening as I can, also thinking about a full cage but we'll see.

We do 40,000 psi waterblasting, the old unit used to be in that and ya towed around washer with a kitchen and toilet etc, just a storage yoke now

You will have bother with a supercharger as it has to be standard inlet/plenum and throttle body. No forced induction unless it is under 1500cc and was fitted as standard. You can fit another engine but it has to retain the lnlet/plenum/TB from whatever car it came from. Still good craic though..

Just a couple of miles away by the looks of it indeed! Is that a 1.6 or 1.8? How do you find the supercharger? I'm at the point with mine to boost it... or sell it and get something new to tinker at.

It's a 1.6, very crude charger setup like but i love it, only 4 psi but makes a big difference

Picked this sparco up cheap down the road, didnt realise it was missing the cushions, so made up a couple and fitted them in mx

Started fixing rotten chassis legs today

Common problem on most mk2 mx5s

Was alot worse than i thought it would be, photo after beating it with a hammer

Got to use my wee scissor lift thing, mk1 sat on it for a while but it's been upgraded to axle stands lol

Got 2 premade repair sections off a fella on one of the Facebook pages, was only 70 quid delivered, way handier than making them

Anyway cut out all the rot and seam welded them in, will get them sealed tomorrow, bust now

Also split the taillights and fitted halos for that skitz skyline spec lights

That's going to look brilliant.... The NB is too soft/rounded up front and that gives it some nice hard angles. Looking forward to seeing that painted.
