Ok so I've had this AR50 Kawasaki since I was 14 in 2001. Basically I found it lying at the back of a house near where I grew up ready to be threw into a skip so the guy gave me it when I asked for it

Bike as I got it in 2001.
The bike was then stripped down and frame, wheels, swingarm and bodywork etc all painted. Also purchased an AR80 at the time damaged and used the engine from it with a 93cc big bore kit in the 50, wee thing could fairly go for the size off it lol

Bike all finished and ready for the road and me hitting 16.
Bike was then used over the next year as my daily transport and for fun until I bought a damaged RS125 Aprilia and got my driving test too

The Ar with my restored RS and my first big bike, a R6.
The AR was never sold on when I stopped using it as it needed fork legs and a few repairs for MOT so it lay in my garage from 2004 until lockdown 2020 when I uncovered it from the back of my unit and to say it had deteriorated is an understatement. I got the bike running again during lockdown but time had taken its toll on her she was stripped to the frame for a restoration.

Frame and various brackets then powder coated.
Also got whatever brackets, nuts and bolts etc replaced in zinc.

Forks rebuilt with newly chromed legs and new seals etc obviously.

The build as it sits now. Have an AR80 engine with 6 speed box to be rebuilt and go in as i sold my 93cc stuff years ago šŸ˜ then bodywork painted etc I think back to original Kawasaki colours of white and red. Progress is slower than I'd like but will update the thread as I go along.

Great that you have held onto it so long, looking good.
I hear the AR wheels are now something special, worth a small fortune.

Bit more progress on the AR recently. Got wiring and all lights etc back on, bodywork painted with new decals and had a go at recovering the seat myself, not 100% perfect but not half bad I don't think.
Also got the AR80 engine rebuilt and back into frame. Next is get exhaust cleaned and painted, replace all cables then few wee finishing touches then hopefully she'll start and get through MOT šŸ¤ž

Wee flying machine is right.

I had an AE50 back in the 1980s, bigger front sprocket, lying on the tank going down hill I could read 45mph on the speedo :joy:

Looks really cool, doing something similar myself, was wondering what size those tyres as they look great?

Yes, ar50 with ar 80 engine, 93cc barrel, 22mm carb etc, just getting the frame shot blasted and powder coasted at them moment, reliving my youth!, Are they standard sizing or over size? Usually 2.50 on the front and 2.75 on the back but those look bigger

They're standard size from memory yeah. Get some pictures up of yours. I've a box full of spares there I'm going to sell if you need anything? Mine has a standard 80 engine in just with a Nikon pipe.
