See the blog feature on this - It has been a tough few years for the organisers of one of the country's largest vintage car shows and things aren't getting any easier.

Having heard amazing things about this annual show organised by the Kilbroney Vintage Show Committee and Newry Lions Club, I visited the event in June 2017... Read the Full Article Here

I'd say most large events be the same, hadn't been to it in years as started to get very samey, but it and Mosney were always great shows. The drive down that morning was always class due to the volume of old cars heading the same way

Suppose it was inevitable but sad to see all the same, Kilbroney is always a good day out, apart from when you see cars that you thought were still pretty modern being shown as classics :sob:

Sign of old age dude  guy was talking to me while getting tyres on the VRS last week that you don't see many older cars around, I pointed out to him that my car was almost 20years old, would be like me driving a 1977 car when I passed my test in 1996

It’s strange and something I’ve noticed too! My daily driver is 23 years old, but I wouldn’t class it as ‘classic show interest’ (Celica), yet when I passed my test in 2006 I was driving my uncles 23 year old MK3 Escorts and Fiestas to shows like Kilbroney and there were plenty of early 80s Toyotas there too! I can’t understand it lol.

Unfortunately I think this will be the same for most of the big events this year.

I really see any meet ups being smaller "last minute" things.

We were there in 2019, its was like a monsoon! Never seen rain like it. We camped and took our tent, ended up having to go to Halfords in Newry to buy small tents to put inside the big tent as it was leaking like a sieve. Decided to chance it and stay the night as we had went to so much bother. We were miserable all night only to find out the next morning the show was cancelled ffs. Had parked the car in the field the night before, nearly didnt get it out the next morning, was like a bog!! Great memories :joy:

Is that the Top Gear Toyarri in the back ground? They started to have it in September a few times with the view if the weather was bad and the field was wet any damage would recover over the winter months. It was very wet one of the last years I remember going and a lot of cars were getting stuck, possibly 2006, as started going to Mosney intead from 2007

My BMW, which I consider to be a fairly new car, especially for me, is currently older than my wee mk2 golf that I first got when I passed my test.
