Thought it was about time I fired a thread up for this fine machine.
So having had an investment come in quite well earlier in the year spurred on the want to buy a L322 Range Rover. I've always preferred this shape, they just look 'right' to me. I'd mentioned to a few people I know I was thinking of buying one and @Tufty sent me details of one a friend of his was selling.
Went and viewed, externally it was clean enough for its age, the interior was very clean. So a deal was done and collected a few days later. Was a week or more before I got a proper drive in it, but immediately had that feeling that these things just have that owners talk about.
I'd planned to use it for a honeymoon trip round Ireland back at the end of April but didn't it bite me in the arse and it went into limp mode by the time we hit Toome... Biggest I told you so from the new wife less than 24 hours into the marriage
Luckily it wasn't anything serious, I rubbed wire for the air flow sensor and a faulty sensor was the issue. 30 mins sorted it and it was back to full V8 power.
The Range came on 22" wheels which while lovely were a bit tired paint wise and with a decision to take it offroading I opted for some standard 19s to clear the massive Brembos up front and some chunky A/T tyres.
Boot is thankfully massive and makes for easily getting big awkward items in and... Wheels
A/T wheels fitted and all set for the run out to see what it was made of off-road.
Took absolutely everything in its stride and showed no signs of struggling at all. Crazy when you consider it's size and weight, also still massively comfortable while bashing through muck piles and through rivers
I've ordered a 2" lift kit to allow for some extra height and 40mm wheel spacers to help the overall look more than anything.
Out this weekend again to do a forest run, and probably the following weekend after that so it's going to be well out through it's paces.
Considering some slightly bigger tyres just trying to find the sizes I'm after. Decided to take it from big bling cruiser to off road bruiser as I like the look more and to be honest there's next to none of these modified for offroading here.
Apologies for the long winded post, will update as I fit the spacers and lift kit.
