This is an aftermarket grill and i'm sure the dull grey areas are watermarks...? can anyone advise on how or what to use to remove it?. Its pretty unsightly against the black magic surround. Washing doesn't help it and it wont rub off either?

Looks like chemical etching, redying it will probably be your best bet. Solution Finish would be what I would try first

like im late
if its not rubbing out its not watermarks

as @big_pete says, its most likely chemical staining and/or etching.

a quick fix is spray with silicone every few washes.

long term would be have it sprayed and lacquered

I bet it's TFR thats caused it. Naviwax would hide it for a good while , or Solution Finish but it's expensive for all you'll use it.

I tried solution finish and it did do anything at all.

I tried ACRYL Quixx plastic polish with great results, id definitely recommend it. I got mirror finish results on the door posts too.

very labour intensive but the results are brilliant.
