Does anyone know anything about DQ250 DSG gearboxes ?

I was told that these are supported by the maxxecu

02E 927 770 AJ
- 0TSI engines - EA888gen1 (Audi A3 8P CCZ / Scirocco MK3 CAW-CCZ / VW Golf MK6 2.0TSI CCZ

02E 927 770 AL
- Audi S3 8P / Golf 6R / Skoda 2.0TSI / VW Passat CC 2.0TSI / VW Scirocco R 2.0TSI

02E 927 770 AM
- Audi S3 TFSI MK2 / VW Golf GTi + R32 / Golf VI R

02E 927 770 AD
- Audi A3 8P 2.0TDI 170PS (*will work with PETROL TCU software)

02E 927 770 AE
- Seat Leon 1P / VW Golf V GTi / R32

However these are TSU HW ID’s

but when I search a gearbox I don’t get these numbers more like: HXS , Tlv, , kcw , gyc , jpp etc

So how do I know which TSU belongs to which gearbox? As all gearboxes are starting with 02E

Or can I just buy any 02E but make sure it has the correct megatronic and TSU as per numbers above?

it’s not clear to me.

Also can I convert an AWD one to 2WD by removing transfer case? I know tegiwa did this but wonder if anything else is needed?

When I try to Google I get thine like: 02E 927 770 AL - DSG 6 DQ250 (02E)

Which doesn’t match the TSU numbers either.

Sorry there aren’t many DSG groups and asked my mechanic but he was looking at me like I was speaking Chinese, even I don’t understand it lol.

So maybe someone knows a bit more here.

Main questions:

* Gearbox code vs TSU HW ID is different I understand?

* The number listed on oil cooler is that relevant? Because that’s what most people make pics off.
But when I Google it I just get the cooler.

* Can I buy any 6 speed DSG and match the TSU / megaonic to it? Or do I need everything from the same gearbox ?

* Would it be better to buy a good one or get one to be refurbish and do that instead?

* Final drive, should this be changed , does it even use a FD? What would work with a Honda K24 revving 8000 rpm with target power of 500hp (I’ll keep it under 500nm as per stage 2+ remap requirements)

* Where (except eBay) can I even find these? Most of them I find are from diesels?

@pobmk4

Depending on your location, Craig @ VAG in Newtownabbey recently serviced my DSG box and would be knowledgeable.

Volkswagen have bestowed me with the title of DSG specialist after going over and training in Milton Keynes for a few days on the boxes and electronics.
They obviously didn’t train me well enough as I literally have no idea what you’re on about. I would just get a quaife dog box in that MR2 of yours and be done with it.

you might want to look into Elsa repair guides to find the info you want, the 3 letter code would be the actual transmission spec, where the "TSU" would just be a partnumber (Which is liable to change based on revisions)

here's one for Audi A3 that might help.
