In Japan, an itasha (痛車, literally "painful car") is a car decorated with images of fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games. I had wanted to see if I could find any while in Japan and was told to go to the Akihabara area on a Friday or Saturday night. Luckily my hotel in Tokyo was about 10 minutes walk away, and here are the ones I managed to spot.
Akihabara itself is very cool, full of giant Sega arcades, maid cafes and electronic shops and worth a visit.
