How awesome is this for a hatch. Carbon wheels from the factory. And no doubt a very quick ring time on the cards.

This is the Ring lap from last month;

I was told the carbon wheels and brake upgrade was £20,000 from a sales manager, not too sure where that figure has come from but it can’t be right, surely?! I’m keeping my eye out for the list price and optional extra costs (not that I can afford the car lol) coming through as there has been so much speculation but as I said in another thread I would say it’ll start around £40,000... 🤯

I had the 300 Trophy for a few days and it was brilliant so can only imagine what the R will be like.

Are these manual or auto? Couldn't see in the article but may have missed it.

Really like the hardcore megane, was looking at the last shape Trophy-R and R26R again last night, loved the Mini GP for blasting around in and these are like a more hardcore version IMO

I just realised how fast 7.40 is round the ring.

Both manual and EDC are available in the 280 and Trophy so I would say you will have the choice in the R. Won’t be many units produced in RHD, 400 cars worldwide and UK only received 30 of the previous gen R.

What a riot that would be down a B road never mind the ‘Ring!

I’d say not many will see a B road of note though :pensive:

I heard what the carbon wheels on the Mustang GT350 allegedly cost, 20k with extra brakes seems like a bargain 😂

So the prices have been announce for the new Megane RS Trophy R..... Nearly fell off the seat when I saw it..... Starts at £51k and goes up to £72k!!

Now I'm a massive Renault Sport fan but that's some price tag for a 1.8 Megane. I'm sure they'll sell the 300 they're building though.... Also @Eddie_ when you get yours? :grinning:

You’d have to have bolts loose! At that money I’d have a gt4 or 997 gts and little to no loss!

If willy waving Ring times is your thing and you compare it’s lap time against other cars it represents value (it lapped the ring in the same time as a Veyron, SLR, Turbo S etc).

But it’s still a only a Renault. That won’t matter though as I’m sure all of them are sold.

I can't help but think that the people they're targeting with this car won't be considering what their £70k is going towards. As in, they have £70k to spend on a track toy, and likely already have a garage full of Porsches for heading to the shops in.

Interesting video and the R26r is still king according to Harry Metcalfe. Would hope to see one someday but can’t imagine there will be one lapping Kirkistown any time soon!
