I would personally leave the badges off - I hate seeing them tbh, prefer the smooth look for cleaning purposes plus it looks better :p

Not much of an update. Bought and fitted some bootlid badges.
Had it serviced, all filters replaced. They were bloody expensive, a fuel filter is over 100 quid, and two air filter 60 quid, the rest were 15 to 20 each.

Passed MOT with no issues laxt week. And taxed on fhe 1st at £540.

Yesterday, started to notice sluggish cranking in the morning, so had a battery check done. Turns out its running at 50% crank amperage. Again, in true ml style, a battery is £150 and its located nder the drivers seat, so not a 5 min job to replace.

After spending a few quid on it, the wifes gonna have it for a while yet.

Sticking in the carplay headunit was a very worthwhile addition. Freshens up the dash big time and nicer unit than the kenwood one i fitted a couple of months ago.

All 4 wheels had a refurb by Michael also.
And had a parking sensor replaced, so much nicer than parking by braille.

Fixed the rear demister with a new relay last month. And today I was presented with a engine light on the merc :-(

Bought an OBD2 scanner as I've also an engine light on the CRV..can't believe it. The CRVs is just a faulty knock sensor, god knows what the Mercs is.

Did the OBD2 scanner work? I have an E220 sitting here with an EML on and can’t get a scanner to work. Waiting on a Delphi one arriving hoping it works to read the codes

think you need a mercedes specific code reader.

I paid over £100 for one on ebay if you's are anywhere close to newry you can stick it on and find out what the code means?

On the subject of MLs ...... servicing the other halfs one last week and noticed the back of the engine soaking with oil :worried: Left to a merc specialist and got the news that the oil cooler seals needed replaced along with glow plugs and an intake manifold. Think im getting away lightly at €750 with the gearbox oil service carried out too. The oil cooler seals are a time consuming job on the OM642 for a part costing just a few quid.

Scanner arrives tomorrow, but taking it to a mechanic this morning who has a star. I’ll let you know if my scanner works.

@AlpineF30 I've my code read (by my mechanic), and looking at a number of Merc Forum posts, folks are recommending the iCarsoft980.

I ordered a cheapy Autel Autolink AL319 OBD2 , we'll see, it could get sent back and the iCarsoft bought instead

That's the one I have and works a treat. Handy to have if you intend keeping the car any sort of time.
