Mercedes roof cylinder replacement part

The roof was struggling to open, and after a look, there is hydraulic oil bubbling/leaking from around the rod in the cylinder pictured below. Looks like it's part number 100 from the Merc catalogue A2088000072. There is a company in the US does the replacement cylinders Mercedes Cylinders W208 CLK-Class 98-03 - Top Hydraulics, Inc , but is there any here (NI or Mainland) would do something similar? Seems that a replacement used one may likely go the same way and it's a real stripping match to get it fitted. Something to do with poor seals fitted to the OEM ones that fail.

Take it off and take it to a hydraulic specialist ? There are guys who recon cylinders etc.

Obviously depends what is wrong, and whether it can be taken apart or not. But there are definitely guys that do that sort of thing, albeit more usually much larger.

Hi Adam, did you ever find out if the seals in these cylinders can be replaced? I have the Sam problem and need to figure out how to dismantle them (black cylinders).
