Mercedes Specialist near Banbridge.

Hi all

Had a bit of bother with the wife's A Class merc. Again...

Engine management light on, took it to a friend with a code reader, and diagnosed code P1493 - Exhaust Flap Output Stage (not relevant if not fitted).
Bought a replacement centre exhaust section that came with the flap and actuator, and got it fitted and cleared the codes yesterday.

Out in the car this morning, and the EML is on again. Spoke to my friend, and he suspects that a dealer level computer will be needed to reset the parameters for the actuator and flap, and that's why it's throwing up the fault again.

Anyhoo, do any of you kind folk know of a mercedes specialist in or around the Banbridge area? Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!!

Were there any other DTCs present on the original visit? Have you rechecked them?

Louis Gribben in newry would have the diagnostics good mechanic to boot, mate took his e220 in to him and was very pleased, he also did the first service on my 328i when I got it

Thank you all for your help. Phoned around a few places today, and managed to find a place in portadown that agreed to look at the car this afternoon. So far. All sorted. But I'm not holding my breath just yet.
