Mini R53 3 Spoke Steering Wheel Airbag Removal

Hey folks, I am swapping out my 2 spoke wheel for a 3 spoke but I cannot get the airbag out of the 3 spoke. I know the process but the clips dont seem to release enough to free the airbag. Can anyone do this with ease before the wheel goes over a hedge!

You go in at 10 to 2 you can feel the spingclip and push down pretty hard 3mm roll pin punch or similar is ideal
